Glasgow School of Art: Inter Library Loans FAQ

Due to the high cost of each request, limits are in place as to the number of inter-library loans different categories of reader can request in each academic year. You should try to place requests judiciously, to ensure that you do not exceed your quota later in the academic session and risk having ILL requests rejected.

Undergraduate students - 20 items
Postgraduate students - 40 items

Please contact Library staff if your area of study requires a greater number of applications.

Research students and staff – the Library will aim to process all applications subject to funds within the Library budget.
Research projects – departments are encouraged to include a figure for Inter-Library loans when formulating funding bids. Library staff will be happy to advise.

A separate form must be completed for each inter-library loan request. Provide as much information as you can to help us process your request. The Library reserves the right to refuse an inter-library loan request where necessary.
